the Art of beer and cheese

Since 1862, the Trappist monks of Notre-Dame de Scourmont Abbey in Chimay, Belgium have produced Chimay ales. The ales are unfiltered and unpasteurized, preserving least yeast in the bottle that naturally carbonates the beer and contributes to their signature flavors. All water is drawn from protected wells on the monastery grounds. Chimay is one of only ten Trappist breweries in the world. It carries the Authentic Trappist Product logo, granted by the International Trappist Association, which certifies that the beer was produced within the walls of the abbey, under the supervision of the monks, and that the majority of profits go to charity.

Proud Pour was officially launched in 2014 with the idea of enjoying happy hours while simultaneously solving environmental problems.   The initial lightbulb went off after realizing NYC’s harbor could be revived simply by restoring the oyster population.  With a fine appreciation for wine pairings, we decided to create the perfect Sauvignon Blanc to pair with locally farmed Oysters.   And for every bottle you enjoy, we will make sure 100 oysters are restored to NYC’s harbor.
